The Ivy at Ellington is a family owned and operated Assisted Living Company based in Massachusetts and Connecticut.  We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work 32-40 hours a week as a direct support to our Director of Nursing at our Ellington Community.  We are an 80-unit Assisted LIving Community that offers both traditional Assisted Living Services as well as Memory Care.  The RN Designee role is responsible for C.N.A. scheduling, assessing current and new residents, maintaining proper charts and documentation, and communicating with Medical practioneers and families as it relates to residents. Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license in CT. must have some flexibility with their schedule (to include weekends and holidays when needed).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision of the Wellness Nurses and all additional ALSA staff on site.
  • Consult regularly with the Supervisor of the ALSA and the Managed Residential Community (MRC) Services Coordinator.
  • Provide necessary written and verbal reports.
  • Assure compliance with all Federal and State regulations.
  • Foster a success-oriented accountable environment within the ALSA that provides the highest quality care and services.
  • Conducts assessments, as often as necessary based on the client's condition but not less frequently than every one-hundred and twenty (120) days.
  • Participate in the QA program under the direction of the Supervisor of ALSA Services.
  • Order, stores administer, document, and dispose of medications as per Federal, State, and Agency regulations.
  • Participate in the RN on call rotation
  • Provide competency training for all client care aides with return demonstration
  • Serve as a liaison to families/designated representatives, health care agencies, emergency
    response teams, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers.
  • Provide first aid and as needed

Requirements:

  • Must have a current Connecticut Registered Nursing License
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years full time or full time equivalent clinical experience in nursing, at least one (1) year of which shall be in a home health care agency or community health program that included care of the sick at home.
