Driver/Reader

Pay: $17.74 per hour +mileage reimbursement

Hours: Monday-Friday ~7:30am-5:30pm

This is a part-time position supporting a full-time employee traveling out to client's houses to perform vision rehabilitation therapy. You will know your schedule, typically, two weeks in advance. Hours normally do not exceed 20 hours per week. If the supported employee is on vacation, there is no work available for the Driver.

The territory for this position will be up to two hours travel surrounding Portland. The employee resides in the Portland area.

You must use your own vehicle.

Overview: Provides transportation to itinerant staff. The Driver/Reader may also provide assistance with visual tasks to passengers requiring visual assistance such as reading off a hand-written note, navigating a new environment, escorting to the client's front door.

Job Duties:

• Provide safe, reliable and timely transportation to staff members and/or clients, who are visually impaired;
• Assist with reading, paperwork or other tasks which may require site assistance as necessary;
• Adhere to The Iris Network safety standards and procedures;
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Clean driving record;
• Access to a safe, reliable vehicle with proof of insurance;
• Must be familiar with using a smart phone, tablet or laptop;
• Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
