Job Purpose: The Activity Assistant works closely with the Program Director and interdisciplinary team to plan, deliver, and coordinate programs to meet the needs of the our residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluating and adapting programming on an ongoing basis to insure that the programming schedule is creative, efficient and reflective of the residents' need and interests.
- Help to facilitate spontaneity of residents, staff, family and community in order to create a homelike environment.
- Interact and collaborate with all relevant support departments (Dining Services, Environmental Services, and Housekeeping) affected by the activities designed, and give advance notice of interdepartmental functions. Work closely with staff to include them in the provision of activities that occur during assigned shifts.
- Assist with creating/posting daily activities for residents, staff and families.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings such as All Staff & Departmental meetings
