In the role of Wellness Manager, you will oversee the overall strategic direction, planning, management and day-to-day operation of the wellness and fitness function for Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the Wellness Department at AMH 
  • Develops the wellness program including but not limited to fitness classes, personal training, acupuncture, massage and other alternative therapies 
  • Develops an environment where residents are safe, encouraged, and supported to participate in wellness activities and trainings both in group settings and individually
  • Monitors and assesses the overall wellness and fitness of the resident population so as to identify individual and group wellness related activities that enrich the living experiences of AMH residents
  • Creates and manages a database of resident backgrounds, interests and traits for use in providing individualized activities and interactions
  • Coordinates the issuance of wellness and fitness related communications to residents and staff
  • Hires and manages outside contractors utilized in the performance of wellness and fitness activities 
  • Creates, implements and maintains a marketing approach within the community to drive resident attendance
  • Provides detailed reporting of class attendance, financial information and safety/health information
  • Manages the department within the financial boundaries of the annual operating budget
  • Hires, manages and develops department support staff in accordance with AMH’s policies and standards, including the maintaining of all required employee performance records and conducting of periodic employee performance reviews, culminating with a formal annual review
  • Interacts and cooperates with other functional counterparts regarding the sharing of best practices, resolution of operational issues, and the implementation of cross-Academy Boulder initiatives
  • Protects residents’ rights, records, and privacy as required by state regulations
  • Monitors/communicates appropriate information relative to resident behaviors for their safety and wellbeing
  • Practices The Academy Boulder’s Service Standards in all work situations 
  • Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, resident and AMH matters 

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English; excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Significant experience in providing personal wellness and fitness programs to the elderly
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in the successful attainment of organizational goal
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a related field
  • Certified Personal Trainer or Licensed Massage Therapist preferred
  • First Aid/CPR certified
