We're hiring for a full-time Wellness and Fitness Coordinator!


JOB SUMMARY The Wellness and Fitness Coordinator will provide knowledge and expertise in developing appropriate wellness and fitness programs for residents and employees, supports adherence to established protocols, policies, guidelines and structure for the delivery of wellness/fitness services.

  • Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for residents.
  • Implement wellness/fitness programs that address the following human needs: physical, cognitive/intellectual/educational, spiritual, sensory, community involvement, and, as needed, family involvement.
  • Provide continuum of care after physical therapy to residents with physical and mental ailments.
  • Oversee a program for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
  • Utilize assessment data for each resident on campus, initially and periodically, to determine preferences for wellness/fitness programs, and assesses each resident’s capability to engage in meaningful fitness programs; documents it and shares information with appropriate staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in decision-making regarding variance from scheduled programming as necessary.
  • Prepare and or contributes the monthly wellness and fitness newsletters and calendars for all levels of living.
  • Ensure all necessary assessment and program documentation is complete and timely.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programming and continuously strives for improvement.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all Plymouth Place policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.
  • Attends in-service and education programs.

   SHIFT:

  • Tuesday - Saturday (days/hours may change but will be scheduled in advance)


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required
    along with the heart and passion to work with older adults while
    providing the best care.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Previous experience successfully leading individual and group
    exercise programs required.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, families, and employees


Requirements
  •  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Leadership or other comparable program major
  • Three to five years of experience
  • Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area; preferred certification in special populations/older adults, especially those living with cognitive and physical conditions
Salary Description
$19.50 - $24.00 per hour
