TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

Under supervision of the Transportation Manager, is responsible for coordinating and implementing new hire and ongoing training and accompanying documentation. Maintains records around Driver Licensing, DOT physicals, and BLS Certifications. Attends IDT Team daily and communicates all Transportation issues to appropriate staff and Departments with accompanying appropriate TruChart and Ecolane updates.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists and communicates as needed with Dispatch to plan and execute the scheduling of transportation to and from the center for program participants. 
  • Respond and execute same day appointments with Dispatch.
  • Assures that all scheduled transports are performed within specified times.
  • Adjust Drivers’ shifts and vehicle assignments as needed.
  • Communicate daily bus and shift list to Dispatch and Drivers.
  • Assists in timely distribution of medications to drivers and centers. Assists in record keeping protocols around medication deliveries.
  • Communicates appropriate information regarding participant tolerance while riding on the PACE vehicles and or other related concerns. 
  • Follows up with Transportation Manager appropriately on all Unusual Occurrences reported by the transportation staff. 
  • Assists the transportation staff in completing competencies, training, and surveys. 
  • Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by Transportation Manager. 
  • Communicate immediately and manage all real time unforeseen situations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • H.S. diploma or GED required.
  • A valid, unrestricted, Michigan CDL license Class B with Passenger endorsement and a driving record that falls into an acceptable category, according to Corporate Insurance standards or receive endorsement within six months of employment.  
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented.
  • Lead effectively under multiple and quickly changing situations.
  • Three years’ work experience in related field and/or supervision/management of five or more staff. 
  • Must be capable of and experienced in transporting individuals with special mobility needs or ability to learn. 
  • Demonstration of progressive leadership ability is highly desirable. 
  • The ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more. 
  • Must meet a standardized set of competencies (approved by PACE) before working independently. 
  • Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
