Security Guard

Location: Shelton, CT, 06484

Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees and visitors. The candidate will serve as initial point of contact for all persons entering the building or calling Crosby Commons. The Security Guard will need to be vigilant, dedicated and experienced. There are some administrative duties as the station is located at the Reception Desk. This candidate must have a solid understanding of providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
• Secure all exits, doors, and windows after hours
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Screens all incoming calls and greets community visitors to insure accurate and efficient communication is facilitated and the community is presented in a positive manner.
• Performs clerical duties.
• Acts as a central source of information for residents: assists them with problem solving and directs them to appropriate department or locations.
• Contributes to the effective operations of the department by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
• Collaborates with all staff to maintain the safety and security of all who reside, visit, or work in the facility.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a security guard or relevant position
• Trained security officer with diploma
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
