Summary of Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with the menu, recipes, and special diet restrictions.
- Interact with residents on a daily basis to ascertain their views, suggestions, and concerns on meals served at the direction of the Food Service Director.
- Perform tasks as assigned on a cleaning schedule.
- Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage, and food rotation.
- Adhere to safety and sanitary practices.
- Obtain and maintain a Food Handler’s Permit.
- Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English.
- Must be dependable.
- Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Certified in First Aid/CPR.
- Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
- Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets.
- Minimum of (1) year experience in restaurant cooking and general kitchen operations.
- Experience working in an assisted living, retirement or senior health care environment preferred.
- Must be able to work in Banning, CA.
- High school education or equivalent.
