    Your Impact

    The role of a Prep/Market station cook is crucial in ensuring the quality, consistency, and efficiency of food preparation and service in a corporate dining cafeteria while contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the business. Your skills will make a difference in our scratch base cooking with wholesome and real ingredients.

     

    Job Specific Duties

    • Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients such as meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments for sandwiches, salads, soups, and other deli items. This may involve slicing, dicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes or customer preferences.
    • Cooking: Cooking various food items, including grilled sandwiches, french fries, etc. Prep/sliced cook may also operate cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and steamers to ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and consistency.
    • Serving the wonderful food you prepped to go out into our Market station which mainly consists of a protein, starch and vegetable option upon much more.
    • Customer Service: Interacting with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, answering questions about menu items, and providing recommendations as needed. 
    • Food Safety and Sanitation: Following food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. This includes proper handling, storage, and disposal of food items and regular cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
    • Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to coordinate food preparation and service efficiently. Cooks must communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
    • Put dishes away, give grill cook a lunch break, replenish infused water and help out in the dish area.

     

    What you will need

    • Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
    • Must be able to and comfortable communicating with customers.
    • Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
    • State approved food handlers card
    • High School Diploma/GED

     

    Physical and Sensory Requirements

    Requires mobility to stand and walk extensively during meal preparation and service. Lifting boxes, up to 25 pounds. Pushing/Pulling Food Hot Boxes up to 50 pounds. Bending and stooping for access to carts, food, trays, and other kitchen equipment. Manual dexterity for the use of kitchen utensils and tools. Visual acuity for reading menus, labels, and directions. Hearing ability to respond to verbal communications. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Taste and Smell to assess food quality, freshness, and adherence to dietary requirements. Ability to distinguish colors for food presentation.
