REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Director of Pharmacy Finance.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Delivers outstanding service by efficiently processing purchase orders for requested supplies, equipment, services, and other essential items for all ProMedica System business units. Ensures timely delivery of goods and services by coordinating necessary actions. Educates and trains requesters on procurement processes and the Infor system.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Creates purchase orders from user requests; sets deadlines and expedites open orders, as necessary.
  • Coordinates with pharmacy vendors and local pharmacy staff to resolve backorder delays and effectively communicates backorder issues to stakeholders.
  • Engages with vendors to obtain information on products or services, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
  • Works through Open PO reports to resolve orders past the expected delivery date by collaborating with vendors, business units and Accounts Payable.
  • Resolves purchase order discrepancies with the receiving department.
  • Collaborates with Accounts Payable to address invoice/PO discrepancies.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining department online files.
  • Ensures an uninterrupted supply flow.
  • Participate in yearly inventory at their respective facilities with quarterly on-site visits.
  • As applicable, understands the 340B program and works to maintain compliance with regulations surrounding the program. Reports savings metrics to director/manager and works with system to maximize opportunity.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Skills: Must possess strong analytical ability and be capable of using PC programs such as MS Office. Experience with wholesale ordering, such as Cencora, Cardinal, etc.

Years of Experience: 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain

License: Certified Pharmacy Technician

Certification: N/A

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.

Skills: Experience with MS Excel.

Years of Experience: 7+ years purchasing experience is desirable.

License: N/A

Certification: 340B Apexus University
