About This Career Opportunity

A Laundry Aide:

  • Provides laundry services for all community linens and personal attire of residents in residential care program using commercial washers and dryers.
  • Responsible for gathering, sorting, cleaning, folding, and returning laundry to proper area following department policy and procedures.
  • Understands and practices Infection Control procedures and safety guidelines.

Provides laundry services for all community linens and the personal attire of residents in residential care program using commercial washers and dryers. Responsible for gathering, sorting, cleaning, folding, and returning laundry to proper area following department policy and procedures. Understands all standard laundry procedures. 


Responsibilities

Consistently exhibits core competencies of: ECA Experience, Personal Appearance, Attendance, Resident Confidentiality, Licensing & Standards, In-service Education, Resident Compassion, and Safety.


QualificationsPosition Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Cleared Criminal Record clearance through the Department of Social Services prior to presence in the community.
  • Health screening and TB test results are not older than 6 months.
  • Current First Aid Training and Certifications as per Title 22.
  • Working knowledge of Title 22.
  • Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to successfully work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers and typing, sufficient to be successful with computerized Point of Care and other systems.
  • 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.


Skills and Attributes

  • Sensitivity and knowledge of working with older adults and the aging process.
  • Must understand health care environment and the medical context for older adults.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with residents, families, peers and employees in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Attention to detail and respect for personal property.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic.
