Works with kitchen team to prepare and plate three quality meals daily.Β 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains a safe and sanitary department according to established rules and regulations.
  • Assist in receiving in-coming supplies, examines supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications and assists with storage.
  • Check menu for upcoming meals to assure all necessary ingredients are available Removes frozen meat and poultry items from freezer allowing adequate time for safe thawing.
  • Reviews and develops recipes based on type of food to be prepared according to therapeutic diets. Follows standardized menus and recipes.
  • Cooks or otherwise prepares food according to recipe following the laws of kosher cooking.
  • Reports equipment needs and supplies needed to the Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

(EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
