Position Summary:
The Activity and Caregiver Assistant plays a vital role in both enriching residents’ daily experiences and providing exceptional care. This role requires a blend of creativity, compassion, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Activity Assistance:

  • Collaborate with team members to design and execute meaningful daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Lead and participate in group and one-on-one activities such as arts and crafts, fitness classes, music, games, and outings.
  • Foster inclusion by encouraging resident participation and tailoring activities to their abilities and interests.
  • Demonstrate integrity by delivering engaging programs aligned with residents' needs and feedback.
  • Maintain safe and welcoming activity spaces, including setup and cleanup.
  • Monitor participation, document feedback, and suggest improvements to enhance activity offerings.

Caregiving Support:

  • Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Support residents during meals, ensuring they are nourished and hydrated.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, assisting with light housekeeping tasks.
  • Demonstrate integrity and accountability by promptly addressing residents’ needs and reporting concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Escort residents to and from activities, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
  • Build meaningful connections with residents, families, and team members, fostering a sense of trust and community.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in caregiving or activity coordination in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Passion for working with seniors and enriching their lives through meaningful connections and activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documenting and reporting.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
