POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible to oversee day to day operations of ProMedica’s 340B program. Ensures compliance with program requirements, stays up to date on industry standards, and ensures program integrity is maintained.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Monitors and assesses 340B guidance and/or rule changes, including, but not limited to HRSA/OPA rules and Medicaid changes. Attends regular 340B trainings and shares lessons and hot topics with staff.
2. Oversees financial reporting of all 340B opportunities and deficiencies and supplies any additional financial information as requested. Submits estimated savings and 340B impact to finance during budget planning and implementation.
3. Writes operational policies and procedures for the 340B program and presents policies to 340B Steering Committee for feedback and system policy approval. Serves as system co-chair of 340B Steering Committee.
4. Responsible for training of any new Pharmacy team member who will be involved in purchasing pharmaceutical agents for any 340B eligible covered entity. Serves as backup buyer for any 340B covered entity in an emergency situation.
5. Works with ProMedica’s Government Relations team to advocate for ProMedica’s interests in the 340B program. Acts as Pharmacy liaison to ProMedica’s Legal and Compliance Departments regarding drug acquisition and related 340B issues.
6. Active participant on ProMedica’s Acute Care Revenue Integrity team. Serves as HRSA primary contact for all ProMedica 340B covered entities. Serves as Project Manager for any 340B related project.
7. Acts as liaison to any department ensuring compliance with 340B program and ensuring program integrity is maintained. Schedules, oversees, and evaluates all external audits of ProMedica’s 340B program.
8. Routinely monitors industry publications and websites as well as the professional media, literature, and peers to ensure that the institution has the latest information regarding interpretations, rulings, suggestions, and advanced ideas for improving participation.
9. Develops and maintains internal relationships (accounting, legal, national) and external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, split-billing software vendors, employee benefit pharmacy benefits managers [PBMs], and third-party administrator [TPA] vendors) as needed.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
11. Reports out financial savings of 340b program quarterly to senior leadership.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Business Administration Skills: Inventory management skills, finance, budgeting, knowledge, or past experience with 340b program
Years of Experience: Minimum 3-5 years pharmacy experience & 2-4 years leadership position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s in Business or Healthcare related fieldYears of Experience: 5+ years of pharmacy experience in acute care setting
